Miriam Saviano graduated from RUFA in 2019 with top marks in Design. During her university career, she challenged herself from the very first year, becoming one of the finalists of the RUFA Contest 2016 with an interactive installation. Combining her passion for the sea and environmental awareness through the use of recycled materials, she eventually developed her thesis project, which involves a place for meeting and relaxation on the beach. Her curiosity and wide-ranging interests led her to pursue a multifaceted course of study with a Master of Science in Product and Service Design, culminating in the creation of a project centred on cinema, another of the designer’s great passions. At the heart of her work are the pursuit of functionality and attention to the user, both on a practical and emotional level, aiming for comfort and the evocation of positive feelings while maintaining the utmost formal simplicity.

This thesis stems from an attempt to define a conceptual dimension of the sea and its distinctive landscape.
This is the starting point from which the project for a physical place develops, a place from which the sea can be observed as though it were a painting: through a frame.
At the same time, however, it can be experienced outdoors, sufficiently screened from the surrounding environment. The furnishings within this structure are also designed to serve the observer: inspired by water and its forms, they aim to make the experience as natural as possible, offering conditions of complete openness so that it can be enjoyed alone or in company, but
always creating a single human and natural community.
