Koux is a 24-year-old Swiss-Danish multimedia artist of Ukrainian origin, who addresses the theme of corporeality and nature as a starting point for exploring the body, skin, psyche, pain and the organic.
The spine is a recurring element in her works, as a paradoxical symbol of strength and vulnerability, inspired by her fascination with organic forms, but also by the Mavka, a Ukrainian mythological figure who wanders with her back open.
Influenced by her background in psychology, she seeks to create an interactive, intimate and reflective space for her audience. Nathalia explores every possible medium, material and technique, including installation, sculpture, performance, sound/video art, painting and printmaking. She mainly incorporates reused and discarded objects, as well as organic components, into her works, giving them new meanings.
Recently, she has experimented with and conducted research into innovative sustainable techniques using natural and non-toxic materials for casting, as well as the growth of Scooby and Mycelium. This ethos also extends to the incorporation of organic or partially organic elements into her works, reflecting her deep connection with nature.
