In my projects I often investigate the concept of place and how it is experienced. A place is never simply what we see at the moment we look at it, but rather a layering of life that leaves traces of its presence. We associate every place with our own imagery of deeply personal memories. All the different stories connected to it inhabit it, filling it with so much life that, without them, it could no longer exist. My photographic research attempts to bring this layering into the world of the image, working across different spatial and temporal levels.
