STATEMENT
Wang Yuxiang was born in 1997 in Anhui, China.
His works are permanently exhibited in public and institutional spaces. His research focuses on the fusion of Mediterranean culture with his native Eastern culture through the use of simple materials and an apparently concise visual language. Time, history and memory are the conceptual leitmotifs that guide his work; the artist distances himself from the place in which he intervenes in order to analyse its particularities, translating them into site-specific visual architectures. Influenced by deconstructivism, he begins with preliminary research and study of the context before subsequently intervening in it. The themes explored focus on promoting equality in contemporary art, the deconstruction of context, reflection on hidden violence and rights within aesthetics and the social landscape, and the analysis of the feasibility and practical methods of protecting cultural heritage. His education, which began in his birthplace and developed during his periods of residence and long journeys, allows him to combine his research with a consideration of cultural diversity and Western centrism in the context of globalisation.

His works are permanently exhibited in public and institutional spaces: PRAC – Centre for Contemporary Art, Ponzano Romano;;Shanxi Contemporary Art Museum. Taiyuan,China; Vacunalia Contemporary Art Festival,Vacone (RI);the Embassy of Italy in Mexico City, Mexico.
