Jazz Factory 2025 – Notes for a Visionary, the event with the Saint Louis Big Band at the Auditorium Parco della Musica “Ennio Morricone” in Rome returns for another extraordinary edition.
A journey through the sounds of contemporary jazz, where talent and experimentation merge into a unique experience of composition and improvisation. This year, Jazz Factory adds a special new feature: a tribute to the music of Federico Fellini’s films.
The event is part of the Grand Tour AFAM project (Official website), of which RUFA is a partner, and is produced in collaboration with RUFA (project leader), Saint Louis, Accademia del Lusso, and STM: Scuola del Teatro Musicale.
To open, the Saint Louis Big Band will perform some of the famous soundtracks from Fellini’s masterpieces, accompanied by animated drawings by Federico Fellini curated by RUFA.
Enhancing the experience, actors from STM Scuola del Teatro Musicale will perform a monologue inspired by the Fellinian universe, with costumes created by Accademia del Lusso for the occasion. After the tribute to the great director, the event will continue in its traditional format: on stage, the Saint Louis Big Band, conducted by Maestro Antonio Solimene, will bring to life the original works of the talented students from the Second-Level Master’s Degree in Composition and Jazz Arranging.
An unmissable event for those who love the new frontiers of music and want to be swept away by the energy of the Big Band, directed in this occasion by the very young composers of the pieces. Jazz Factory is much more than a concert: it is a workshop where ideas take shape, where sounds transform into emotions, and the audience becomes an integral part of a constantly evolving musical narrative.
The appointment is on Friday, May 30, in the beautiful setting of the Sala Petrassi at the Auditorium Parco della Musica “Ennio Morricone”, Rome.
