Thesis desk

Thesis Support Desk is a support service dedicated to students who are preparing their written thesis.
RUFA offers graduating students methodological guidance designed to facilitate the various stages of developing their dissertation, from defining its structure to the final drafting of the text that will be presented and discussed during the thesis defence.

The Thesis Support Desk is available at the following times:
Via Lariana 8: Monday and Thursday 11:00–15:00, Wednesday 14:00–17:00
Via Libetta 7: Tuesday 11:00–15:00, Friday 14:00–17:00

During the times indicated, the service coordinator – in collaboration with the supervisor and co-supervisor – provides guidance and useful suggestions on various aspects of thesis work: from the selection and organisation of topics to the structure of the text, from the correct citation of sources to the compilation of the bibliography, as well as revision and editing activities.

Plagiarism Check

As part of the thesis submission procedures, dissertations are subject to a plagiarism check through Compilatio Magister, a tool widely used in higher education institutions to verify the originality of academic texts.

The system analyses the document by comparing it with a vast range of online sources, academic publications and databases of papers already stored within the platform. At the end of the analysis, the software generates a report highlighting any matches with other texts and identifying sections that require verification, helping to detect incorrectly referenced quotations or potential misuse of third-party content.

The purpose of this check is not to penalise students, but to promote good academic writing practices, encouraging the proper use of sources and respect for copyright.

Students who wish to do so may also request a free preliminary self-assessment of their thesis through Compilatio Studium, the version of the software designed specifically for students. This tool allows students to review their work before the official submission, identify any issues and correct them in good time.
