RUFA students will be among the protagonists of the event «Nuit des Cabanes – Living Tomorrow», which will take place on July 3rd in the gardens of Villa Medici. They will be involved in the performance «Habiter son corps: 8 comme l’infini», an experience that blends fashion and performance art, exploring themes related to the body, identity, and sustainability.
As part of the Festival des Cabanes, Nuit des Cabanes – Living Tomorrow will explore the poetic and welcoming dimension of the “cabanes”, symbolic places of encounter between different artistic disciplines.
The program includes botanical tours, tasting and harvesting workshops, artistic performances, readings, and concerts, featuring artists in residence at Villa Medici and numerous distinguished guests such as philosopher Emanuele Coccia, writer Alain Damasio, dancer and choreographer Smaïl Kanouté, and many others.
Our students will be featured in the fashion performance «Habiter son corps: 8 comme l’infini», a fashion show taking place at 18:00 in the Carré des agrumes. Blending fashion and performance, the event will showcase sculptural poses, hanging scarves, and a camera that captures this ritual in a loop, creating a living, poetic archive.
Leading this performance is Maroussia Rebecq, a French stylist and performer, a prominent figure in the field of sustainable fashion and upcycling. Defining herself as an alchemist and eco-feminist activist, Maroussia rewrites the rules of fashion, transforming discarded materials into unique pieces that challenge traditional production and consumption models. Her performance, taking place from 18:00 to 18:30, merges living sculptures, fashion, and photography, capturing the performers’ poses in a photographic loop that creates a dynamic and poetic archive, celebrating the beauty of transformation.
The event involves students from the Fine Arts department, who will perform as artists, from Fashion Design Sostenibile, who will handle the styling of the participants, and from Photography, who will be responsible for visual documentation, capturing every moment and creating an archive that fully expresses the beauty and intensity of the event.
