Watersprite is the largest student film festival in the world, with participants from over 105 countries. The festival offers a creative, inclusive, and international space for the next generation of filmmakers.
For its 17th edition, Watersprite is seeking the best short films in the following categories:
> Fiction
> Documentary
> Animation
> Experimental
The festival offers numerous technical and genre awards, designed to provide real career development opportunities, including collaborations with industry professionals and access to high-quality technology and equipment.
The 2026 edition will take place from 6 to 8 March 2026 in a hybrid format:
> Online access to events, networking, and screenings
> Support opportunities for finalists wishing to attend in person
> Meetings with high-profile guests, workshops, panels, and Q&A sessions
> Free participation in all activities
Submissions will open on 21st July 2025, and will remain open until 23:59 GMT on 8th September 2025. We reserve the right to close the submission platform earlier.
