Emanuela Camacci Selected for Tuwaiq Sculpture 2026

The artist and RUFA faculty member Emanuela Camacci has been selected to participate in Tuwaiq Sculpture 2026, a prestigious international symposium dedicated to contemporary sculpture, which will take place in Riyadh from January 10 to February 5, 2026, as part of the Riyadh Art program.

Camacci’s project for the creation of a monumental public sculpture was selected by an international jury through a process that saw over 590 applications from around the world. The 2026 edition brings together 25 artists from 18 countries, who will work live on the creation of artworks destined to become part of the city’s permanent public art collection.

Curated under the theme “Traces of What Will Be”, the seventh edition of the symposium invites reflection on the physical, cultural, and conceptual traces that help shape the future of cities and communities. The selected artists will produce large-scale sculptures in granite — with possible stainless-steel integrations — or in reclaimed metal, within a framework that combines artistic production with moments of public engagement, panel discussions, and workshops.

Emanuela Camacci’s participation in Tuwaiq Sculpture 2026 represents a significant recognition of her artistic path and highlights the quality of the research and sculptural practice that also informs her teaching activity at RUFA, within an international context.
