From December 18, 2025, to March 15, 2026, the Casa Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi opens its doors to “Homage to Robert Redford. Image, Music, and Film,” a cultural project that celebrates the American cinema icon by intertwining visual arts, fashion, and performance.
❯ Free entry for RUFA students and faculty.
❯ Participation in the entire series of screenings will grant 2 ECTS credits to all RUFA students.
Robert Redford, who recently passed away, an icon of 70s cinema, a free spirit, nonconformist, and critic, starred in memorable films that shaped not only the taste but also the way of thinking and being of those years. The tribute to the great American artist highlights how cinema has shaped, oriented, and permeated habits and lifestyles, and contributed to determining ethical and aesthetic choices.
Starting in January and running until March 2026, film screenings will be introduced by film historian Raffaele Simongini, curator of the film series, a collaboration between RUFA and Director Fabio Mongelli.
The exhibition, curated by Maria Giuseppina Di Monte and Martina Casadio, explores the figure of Robert Redford not only as an actor but as an unintentional trendsetter. Through the garments of the historic Sartoria Farani and photographs from the Getty archive, the exhibition traces the elegance of the ’70s: from the urban casual of Three Days of the Condor to the roaring atmosphere of The Great Gatsby, and to the landscapes of Out of Africa. A journey that demonstrates how cinema is a powerful incubator of lifestyles.
