On Wednesday, April 22, RUFA hosts «YOU IN MIND», a special event organized in collaboration with the volunteers of Progetto Itaca, a foundation committed to promoting mental health. The event is part of the #MindfulRUFA workshop and event series, with the aim of offering students a space for dialogue and personal growth, fostering inclusivity, psychological well-being, and freedom of expression within the academic environment.
April 22 | 4:00 PM | Aula Magna, Via Taro 14 – RUFA campus (Trieste district)
The talk will be held in Italian. Free admission with registration.
On this occasion, volunteers from Progetto Itaca will take part in the event. The foundation promotes programs of information, prevention, support, and rehabilitation for people with mental health disorders and their families.
Francesco Pisani, Full Professor of Child Neuropsychiatry at Sapienza University of Rome, will also be present. The meeting, introduced by René Angeramo, psychologist-psychotherapist and Head of RUFA Counseling and Orientation, represents an opportunity for discussion on issues related to mental health and prevention.
RUFA students are invited to actively participate in the event by asking questions to the speakers in an open and free dialogue. During the event, key topics will be addressed, including the importance of qualified and ongoing psychological support within an Academy of Fine Arts, as well as the urgency of counteracting stigma toward psychologists and psychiatrists through accurate scientific communication. The importance of relying exclusively on qualified professionals — psychiatrists and licensed psychotherapist psychologists — will also be highlighted, emphasizing the risks associated with the unlawful practice of the profession.
Volunteers from Progetto Itaca will also explore the factors influencing mental health, the differences between various professional roles in the field, and provide an overview of the most common disorders, supported by video testimonials and references to treatment principles. They will also offer useful guidance on recognizing early signs of mental distress in individuals.
Make your voice heard: this event aims to be a starting point for strengthening understanding and psychological support within our academy.
