The Rai Cinema Channel Award at Alice nella Città 2025 will be assigned by a jury of RUFA students coordinated by Rai Cinema.
For the first time, the Rai Cinema Channel Award for the best short film at Alice nella Città 2025 will be decided by a jury composed of 5 RUFA students – Rome University of Fine Arts, supported by their lecturers and coordinated by Rai Cinema.
The collaboration with RUFA, a long-standing partner of Rai Cinema in the field of education and audiovisual innovation, will allow students to actively take part in the selection process. The jury will evaluate a selection of about 26 Italian short films from the various sections of the festival programme – from the competition to the non-competition screenings, including special events – to emphasise the cross-cutting perspective of the young jurors and their ability to recognise talent beyond categories. The prize consists of a three-year purchase contract for the web and free-to-air TV rights of the short film, offered by Rai Cinema.
Involving RUFA students in the jury of the Rai Cinema Channel Award represents a unique opportunity to combine training and professional practice: a way to provide young people with concrete tools to understand the work of critical evaluation of audiovisual content and to engage with the dynamics of the film industry.
For RUFA, this collaboration is further recognition of the value of its educational model, based on the intersection between teaching, research and industry. Offering students the opportunity to enter into direct dialogue with a player such as Rai Cinema and with an international festival such as Alice nella Città means strengthening their professional and creative growth, placing them from the very beginning in a real and competitive context.
