RUFA partners with the Milano Film Festival: the talk series “Road to MFF” begins.
RUFA is a partner of the Milano Film Festival and launches, at the Academy’s Milan campus, the series of talks “Road to MFF”, a path leading up to the next edition of the festival dedicated to the practices and languages of contemporary cinema.
Through three events hosted in the spaces of RUFA Milano, students, professionals and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to engage with authors and industry experts, exploring themes related to audiovisual storytelling, film research and the transformations of the creative industries.
Each meeting will open with a brief presentation of the Milano Film Festival and the activities of its Academy, the festival’s space dedicated to schools, students and education.

The first event will take place Monday 9 March, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Aula Magna Bodio of the RUFA Milan campus (Piazzale Lugano 19).
The guest of the meeting will be Riccardo Grandi, director and screenwriter who has been active for over twenty years across cinema, television and advertising. He is the author of the book Short Storytelling (Audino Editore), dedicated to the theoretical and design foundations of contemporary audiovisual storytelling.
The talk will focus on short-form storytelling as a central form of contemporary audiovisual language, analyzing how short narrative structures are designed and how they are applied across cinema, television and advertising communication.

❯ «Professional variations on the ninth art: research, musealization, conservation and enhancement practices» with Silvia Moras.
The second event will take place Sunday 30 March, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, again at the Aula Magna Bodio.
The guest will be Silvia Moras, film historian and director of the Museo del Palazzo del Fumetto in Pordenone. For over twenty years she has carried out research, teaching and training activities in the fields of audiovisual pedagogy and cultural heritage conservation. She teaches at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, where she lectures on the History of the Cinematheque Movement within the course in Conservation and Management of Audiovisual Heritage.
The meeting will explore the different professional fields connected to the history and enhancement of cinema and comics, including research, conservation, musealization and dissemination, offering insight into the skills and professional opportunities related to the protection and promotion of cultural heritage.

❯ «From the legacy of Studio Bozzetto to the global market» with Pietro Pinetti.
The series will conclude Sunday 4 May, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a talk by Pietro Pinetti, CEO of Studio Bozzetto and CEO and Creative Director of Lilium Creative Factory, an entrepreneur active in the development and production of animated and audiovisual content for the international market.
The talk will start from the history and legacy of Studio Bozzetto, founded in the 1960s by director and animator Bruno Bozzetto, one of the most iconic studios in Italian animation. Through concrete case studies, the evolution of the studio will be explored, from its historical roots to its current international dimension, including animated series, global co-productions and collaborations with broadcasters and platforms.
The meeting will offer an insight into the dynamics of the contemporary audiovisual industry, increasingly based on international co-productions, strategic partnerships and professional networks. At the center of the discussion will also be the role of relationships within the creative sector: in the world of animation ideas are fundamental, but it is the ability to build trust, activate networks and develop collaborations between different countries that determines the growth and long-term sustainability of projects.
