Following the success of the previous edition, 50h in Barca returns, the contest dedicated to the production of short films in the Barca district of Bologna.
The 2025 edition concluded with significant participation: 25 crews involved, over 200 participants, and a final evening that brought together hundreds of spectators, with a jury of industry professionals in attendance.
The 2026 edition will take place over the weekend of 29, 30 and 31 May 2026. During these days, participating crews will have 50 hours to create a complete short film with a maximum duration of 10 minutes.
The process includes all stages of production: concept development, writing, filming, editing and post-production, all to be carried out entirely within the Barca district.
The completed short films will be presented during the final evening scheduled for 26 June 2026, at Treno della Barca.
The works selected by a jury of industry experts will be screened in an open-air cinema, followed by the awarding of prizes and special mentions.
On the official contest website you can find the regulations and the application form. The application deadline is set for 17 May 2026.
RUFA students are eligible for a 20% discount on the participation fee. To access the reduced rate, participants must contact the organisers by writing to 50hinbarca@gmail.com.
