Online the announcement of the Zavattini Prize 20/21

From June 10, 2020 will be online the announcement of the fifth edition of the Cesare Zavattini Award promoted by the AAAMOD Foundation, in which young filmmakers between 18 and 28 years old who want to make short film projects through the creative reuse of archival cinema can participate. A jury will select the nine finalist projects and the authors will be admitted to a free training and development workshop for their proposals. At the end of the workshop the same jury will choose the three winning projects, which will have the support of the prize for their realization. But that’s not all: the authors will be able to use the film material of AAMOD Foundation and partner archives for free. They will also have support services for post-production. For each short film made there will be a prize of 2 thousand euros that will be awarded at a public ceremony.
Among the archives to which the authors will have access: the Home Movies National Family Film Archive, which has over 1000 clips on its digital platform Memoryscapes and the Archive of Migrantil Memories, born in 2007, which collects and disseminates written and oral stories and testimonies on migration.

The announcement and the rules and regulations, with the relevant participation formats, can be downloaded from the website of the award. The deadline for submitting projects is 10 September 2020. The Zavattini 20/21 award will be presented on Monday 15 June 2020, at 5 p.m., in an online press conference on the official Facebook page of the project.
