Born in Verona in 1994, after completing classical studies she moved to Rome, where she graduated in Performing Arts and Sciences at La Sapienza University of Rome and attended the Advanced Training School for Film Directors and Screenwriters. She later obtained a Master’s Degree in Film Arts from the Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA).

In 2020, Caterina wrote and directed her first short film Specchio, starring Daphne Scoccia and Flaminia Cuzzoli, produced by Ripartenze srl, Festina Lente Film, and Giorgia Valenti Beccaria.
Specchio was distributed by Premiere Film and received several selections and awards at national and international film festivals, such as Festival du film LGBT de Paris Chéries-Chéris 2020, Videocorto Nettuno 2020, Verona International Film Festival 2020, Thessaloniki International LGBT Film Festival 2020, Shanghai International Film Festival 2020, Sedicicorto International Film Festival 2020, Phlegraean Film Festival 2020, Pigneto Film Festival 2020, OMOVIES Film Festival 2020, and Visioni Corte 2020.

In 2022–2023, she wrote and directed the experimental film Narciso e Eco, a story of metamorphosis. The work was produced by Ripartenze and Festina Lente Film.
The film is currently being distributed by Tersite Film and has received awards and selections such as Best Artistic Direction and Best Editing – Experimental Brasil, and was a finalist project at Marte Live 2023, Sussex International Film Festival (SIFF), Rome Independent Film Festival (RIFF), and Emisferi Cinefest 2024.

In 2024, she directed the documentary DIKE – Vita da magistrato, produced by INCE MEDIA srl, which was selected for the Rome Film Fest 2024 in the Special Screenings section.

Alongside her work as a director, Caterina works as First and Second Assistant Director on various films, including Futura, directed by Pietro Marcello, Alice Rohrwacher and Francesco Munzi, produced by Avventurosa Film and selected for the Quinzaine at the Cannes Film Festival 2021; La guerra del Tiburtino III by Luna Gualano, produced by MOMPRACEM and U.S. Palmese; and directed by the Manetti Bros. and produced by MOMPRACEM.
