RUFA continues the 2025/2026 Talk series with a new event dedicated to the world of independent comics, illustration and self-publishing. The talk, entitled “100% Viscosa: how to spin threads in comics self-publishing. The birth of a collective: from brand identity to the editorial project”, offers an in-depth look at the value of self-production as a space for creative freedom, experimentation and community-building.

The Talk, proposed by lecturer Claudio Spuri, will feature members of the Collettivo Viscosa: Emma Arduini, Fortunata Laurenti, Alessandra Bavecchi, Chiara Fiordeponti, Beatrice Maria Galli, Paola Francabandiera, Elena Zannoni, Silvia Blasi and Sabina Sodaro.
Founded in 2022 by a group of RUFA students, Collettivo Viscosa positions itself within the Italian comics and illustration scene as an independent and constantly evolving reality. A union of different languages and sensibilities that takes shape through anthologies, zines and prints, giving life to multifaceted narrative and visual solutions.

In 2025, the collective self-published the anthology volume “Quanto manca all’alba”, an editorial project that explores the theme of night through the luminous contribution of guest artists. In the same year, at the ARF! Festival, the collective was honoured with the PressUP Award as Best Independent Reality in the Self Area, confirming the strength and relevance of the project within the national context.
Drawing on their own experience, the talk will offer RUFA students a direct insight into what it means today to start and grow a self-publishing collective: from the definition of a project identity to editorial production, through dialogue with festivals, professionals and communities. A collective narrative that presents self-production as a concrete, accessible and stimulating practice for taking the first steps in the field with the freedom typical of independent realities.

Registration for the talk will be available starting from Wednesday 14 January 2026.
The Talks are open to all RUFA students. To register, access the RUFA Career System using your credentials.
