RUFA hosts the 7th edition of Oltre lo Specchio Film Festival – The dark side of genre cinema.
From 6 to 12 November 2025, RUFA, at its Piazzale Lugano 19, Milan campus, will host the 7th edition of Oltre lo Specchio Film Festival, the event dedicated to horror, science fiction, thriller and fantasy cinema.
Born with the aim of exploring genre cinema in all its nuances, Oltre lo Specchio offers every year a cinematic journey through the great contemporary metaphors, delving into fears, transformations and the imagery of the present through the visionary gaze of the most innovative filmmakers.
The festival, organized by the Cineforum Robert Bresson, will be structured into three main sections:
❯ International Competition, featuring films from all over the world;
❯ Out of Competition, dedicated to the most renowned titles of the mainstream scene;
❯ Newcomers, focused on debut directors.
Alongside the screenings, the program includes talks and in-depth discussions open to the public, designed to encourage dialogue and offer new reflections on the role of genre cinema in contemporary society.
With the patronage of Fondazione Cariplo and the support of Regione Lombardia, Fondazione Fiera di Milano and the Municipality of Milan, the festival renews its collaboration with RUFA, strengthening the academy’s presence in the Milanese cultural scene and promoting dialogue between cinema, art and society.
