As part of the RIFF the “I can” contest

The RIFF Awards – Rome Independent Film Festival is an international independent film festival that aims to promote contemporary works produced in the current year. The event takes place in Rome between the end of November and the beginning of December and presents about 100 works in absolute preview, divided into 13 sections: first and second full-length films, documentaries, short films, experimental films and animations, scripts and screenplays characterized by originality and innovation of content and techniques used.
As part of the Festival are open for entries to the competition “I can”, reserved for young people aged between 18 and 30 years, in order to create a short film of 2 minutes to explore the theme: “Exit from violence. The power to generate freedom for oneself, for all and for all”.

The video contest has been conceived by D.i.Re – Donne in rete contro la violenza (Women in the network against violence) and wants to stimulate young people to creatively reflect on the affirmation of female freedom as a necessary condition to prevent male violence against women and girls. The contest rules can be downloaded on the site Say Against Violence.

The works – made with any technique, recording tool and narrative type, indoors or outdoors, as long as they are based on original content, not covered by copyright – must be received by D.i.Re within 24 hours of March 31, 2021 in the manner specified in the rules. The winning short film will be announced and awarded during the Festival Libere di essere, scheduled from May 7 to 9, 2021 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and realized in collaboration with Fondazione Musica per Roma and Mismaonda, artistic director Serena Dandini. The winning video will be screened at the next edition of RIFF – Rome International Film Festival, in the fall of 2021.
