IMPRESSIONS OF HUMANITY – This is the project by Fondazione MSD, developed in collaboration with RUFA, Eikon Strategic Consulting Italia Società Benefit, Pastificio Cerere, and a wide network of Patient Associations, to celebrate the first 20 years of its activity.
The project was created with the aim of exploring, understanding, and communicating – through digital arts and the support of Artificial Intelligence – the experiences of young caregivers in Italy: young women and men between 18 and 30 years old who take care of vulnerable family members. It is a unique opportunity to connect young creatives, healthcare professionals, and cultural institutions, helping to raise public awareness of a phenomenon that is still little known, yet of great social relevance.
The starting point is a national survey, coordinated by Eikon and developed thanks to the collaboration of Patient and Caregiver Associations @FAVO, @APMARR, @YOUNG CARE, @Cittadinanzattiva, @Salute Donna Salute Uomo, who distributed the questionnaire within their networks.
The goal of the survey was to collect data, emotions, and needs from young caregivers, which would then serve as the foundation for an innovative training programme on Digital Health Humanities, dedicated to RUFA students.
RUFA students were asked to translate the survey data into innovative artistic languages, with the support of Artificial Intelligence. The final works were evaluated by a panel of experts based on established criteria including communicative effectiveness, innovation, consistency with the survey results, and artistic quality.
The selected works were displayed in an exhibition inaugurated on September 17, 2025, at Fondazione Pastificio Cerere. On this occasion, the awards ceremony also took place, during which Raquel Nache Lopez was proclaimed the winner with her work “Giulia’s Room”.
RUFA is active partner in the project, contributing to student training, supervision of the artistic creations, and the setup of the exhibition, in collaboration with Francesca Fini. RUFA’s participation is on a non-profit basis, in line with its educational mission to promote the integration of Health Humanities into artistic training programmes.
