On the occasion of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IQY), the National Quantum Science and Technology Institute (NQSTI) launches the Quant’ARTE Festival, an initiative that brings visual art and quantum science into dialogue, with the aim of introducing the general public to the potential and implications of quantum technologies through creative expression.
Among the planned activities is Quant’ARTE > talents, a section exclusively dedicated to students from Academies of Fine Arts and Design Institutes recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), including RUFA.
An opportunity to experiment, be inspired, and contribute your artistic vision to a group exhibition that will take place in Milan between November and December 2025. The program includes training sessions, meetings with researchers, and the chance to develop an original artwork inspired by the quantum universe.
How to participate
1. Online presentation
Discover the project live: the presentation event will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
You must register by July 9, 2025 by filling out the participation form.
2. Training
Two online sessions to explore the basics of quantum science and receive inspiration for your creative process:
Wednesday, July 16 at 2:00 PM
Wednesday, July 23 at 5:30 PM
3. Application
To apply, fill out the online form and submit:
– A portfolio (5 works)
– A motivation letter
Deadline: July 25, 2025
Open to individual artists and collectives.
4. Selection
A panel composed of NQSTI experts, Academy professors, and a renowned national artist will select up to 20 proposals.
5. Production
Selected participants will have until October 30, 2025 to complete their work, with the support of NQSTI researchers.
6. Final exhibition
The selected works will be exhibited in a prestigious venue in Milan. A digital catalog of the exhibition will also be published.
