Tribute to Robert Redford. Image, Music and Film

From December 18, 2025, to March 15, 2026, the Casa Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi opens its doors to “Homage to Robert Redford. Image, Music, and Film”, a cultural project celebrating the icon of American cinema by intertwining visual arts, fashion, and performance.

Robert Redford, the recently deceased 70s cinema icon, a free spirit, nonconformist and critical mind, and the star of memorable films that forged the taste as well as the way of being and thinking of those years. The tribute to the great American artist highlights how cinema has shaped, oriented, and permeated habits and lifestyle models, contributing to determining ethical and aesthetic choices.

Starting in January and running until March 2026, film screenings will take place, introduced by film historian Raffaele Simongini, curator of the film series, which is the result of the cooperation with Rome University of Fine Arts and Director Fabio Mongelli. The screening schedule will be available on the National Museums of the City of Rome Directorate website and on social media (FB and Instagram) starting January 10.

The exhibition, curated by Maria Giuseppina Di Monte and Martina Casadio, explores the figure of Robert Redford not only as an actor but as an involuntary trendsetter. Through garments from the historic Sartoria Farani and photographs from the Getty archive, the exhibition retraces the elegance of the 70s: from the urban casual style of Three Days of the Condor to the roaring atmosphere of The Great Gatsby, up to the landscapes of Out of Africa. A journey demonstrating how cinema is a powerful incubator of lifestyles.
