Graduated in Communication and Information Theory, with a PhD in Philosophical and Social Sciences, he’s focused on signification processes and communication models within the so-called Human Systems. With a semio-narrative perspective which integrates concepts and insights from the biological and cognitive layer, he studies meanings, languages, and expression formats in postmodern societies, arts and entertainment as well as urban culture trends. In particular, he works on Identity, the relationship between Person and Environment, “institutional” artistic forms as well as those expressed in the street scene. Scientific Director of the research group DxS: Design (for) Semiotics, and Editorial Director of the annual publication DxS Views (Showdesk Edizioni). Member of the Ph.D. Committee in Fine Arts “Cross Innovation Design for Cultural Industries” at RUFA. He teaches Semiotics of Art, Perception Theories, History and Theory of Mass Media and New Media. Additionally, he holds a class in Intercultural Communication and Leadership for visiting U.S. students in Rome at CIEE Rome – Council on International Educational Exchange.
