Massimiliano Napoli

Graduated in Communication and Information Theory, with a PhD in Philosophical and Social Sciences, he is interested in signification processes and communication models within the so-call “human systems”. With a cognitive-emergentist perspective and a semio-narrative approach, he analyzes meaning, languages, and forms of expression in the context of social behavior context, arts and entertainment as well as urban culture trends. In particular, he works on the concept of Identity, the relationship between the individual and the environment, the “institutional” artistic forms as well as those expressed in the underground scene. He recently published the articles “Il puro rivelatore. Arte tra profanità e sacralità” (2020), and “Identità. Segno e simbolo di trasformazione” (2019), included in the magazine «Insight. La cultura dell’Altro». Also, the essays “Appunti sul genius loci. Spazio, narrazione, autenticità” (in the book «Sensibilia 9. Genius Loci», 2017), and “Teatri del Sé. Dalla memoria autobiografica alla costituzione semio-narrativa della Soggettività” (in the book «Identità e persona», 2017).
