Andrea Vendetti

After graduating at Sapienza University of Rome with a thesis on clandestine printing houses during the Italian Resistance, and after a study stay at the ENSAD in Paris, he graduated in Communication, Design, and Publishing at the ISIA of Urbino with a thesis on the Historiography of Graphic Design. He is in his second year of Ph.D. in Design at Sapienza, works as a graphic designer with archives and associations and is the co-founder of Slab. Slab is a letterpress workshop based in Rome, Italy, where it is possible to use type and antique machinery to rediscover the slow times of the artisan dimension. The objective is to give ample space to education and research to preserve the Italian typographic culture through the workshop. Self-productions and prints on commission are made here, and workshops, exhibitions and conferences are held periodically.
