FORMA FABER Roma - Fashion

RUFA @ Rome Future Week – FORMA FABER Roma

On September 18, 2025, RUFA will take part in the Rome Future Week with FORMA FABER, an event that intertwines fashion, technology, and sustainability, presenting an innovative fashion project born from the creativity of the new generations.

Thursday, September 18, 8:00 PM – RUFA Pastificio Cerere, Via degli Ausoni 7, Rome – Free admission.

FORMA FABER Roma will transform the spaces of Pastificio Cerere into a «widespread runway», showcasing the capsule collections created by the third-year Sustainable Fashion Design students: Elisabetta Baruffo, Benedetta Bertoncini, Elizia Cinquedita, Leonardo Messina, Luca Gaddini, Virginia Passaro, Davide Amato, Veronica Bellandi, Ana Fernandez, Shana Di Maio, Giulia Manente and Nadia Maggiani.

Three original pieces by each designer, inspired by the city of Rome as a symbol of contrasts: classical and peripheral, aristocratic and popular, cultured and informal.

The result is a collective narrative where personal visions converge into a single contemporary perspective.
Guided by Fashion Design lecturer Gianluca Lera and styled by Andrea Mennella, the students explored aesthetics and sustainability, creating collections that combine creativity with environmental awareness. The concept, developed by Guenda Cermel, Coordinator of the BA in Sustainable Fashion Design, features an immersive setup with augmented reality, carbon footprint analysis, and multimedia content, including an interactive fashion book offering the audience a narrative experience at the intersection of art and technology.

The multimedia project is carried out in collaboration with the students of the RUFA course Multimedia and Game ArtCamilla Di Giovanni, Diletta Maria Nannini, and Simona Sfregola – under the supervision of professors Raffaele Vella and Giulio Pernice.
The set design, curated by Maria Chiara Castelli together with the students, will explore the relationship between space, sustainability, and sensory perception, while the multimedia installation will be created by designer and professor Francesca Gollo.

The Balletto di Roma, RUFA’s media partner, will bring to the event an original choreography created by Valerio Longo and performed by the students of the Balletto di Roma School, adding to the fashion show a performative dimension that blends dance and fashion. A special thanks to the partners who provided the fabrics used by the young designers: Manteco and Berto, as well as Candiani Denim and Agostonelli, who made available precious silk deadstock.

“Fashion, as a creative and cultural expression, has the power to inspire, unite and innovate. Yet we cannot ignore that its production chain, as well as the events that celebrate it, generate a significant environmental impact in terms of energy consumption, use of materials and waste production. Forma Faber Roma, while representing a moment of sharing and creativity, is not exempt from this reality: organising an event of such scale inevitably carries an ecological footprint, linked to the energy required for the set-ups, the travel of participants and the use of material resources. Aware of this responsibility, we are pleased to have supported RUFA in mitigating its environmental impact by funding the planting of three trees with the Sylva Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to environmental regeneration through reforestation. Sustainability is not a goal achieved with a single gesture, but a journey made up of daily choices, innovation and dialogue.” states Luigi De Vecchi, President of Fondazione Sylva.”

The initiative reflects RUFA’s educational approach, rooted in creative cross-pollination among the arts, and highlights the collaboration between different departments – in this case Fashion Design, Multimedia and Game Arts, Scenography – as a tool for broadening skills and perspectives. This synergy between languages and disciplines prepares the new generations to imagine the future of the creative world with awareness and originality.
