Rometti Prize, RUFA student Ilayda Caylan flies into the finals

The 2020 edition of the Rometti Prize also continues under the sign of RUFA. The project by Design student Ilayda Caylan produced as part of the Product design course of the teacher Floriana Cannatelli, presented in recent months to the selection jury, is one of the 4 finalists called to compete for the coveted award.

Since 1927 Manifattura Rometti, at its historic headquarters in Umbertide (Pg), has been making artistic ceramics, with the collaboration of young designers who are committed to giving vent only to their creativity. The prize is a free theme. The only objective is to combine the work of art with the design object.

The idea of Ilayda Caylan, entitled People convinced for its shapes, its decoration and for the poetics that raises the foundations. For her and the other finalists the doors of the company are now open, in order to translate the hypothesis into practice. The students will have the right to a stage of one week to realize their project in practice. Once the works will be realized there will be a second vote and for the first 3 classified there will also be a money prize and the exhibition of the prototype in permanence at the Rometti Museum in Umbertide, as per the announcement. The first classified will be awarded a fund of 1000 euro, 600 to the second and 400 to the third. All the creations made during the internship can go into production, even with any changes previously agreed with the author.
