A call for applications worth 4 thousand euros from Luiss Creative Business Center

It is addressed to under 35 artists the international award “Generazione Contemporanea”, organized by Luiss Creative Business Center. The competition, in addition to a cash prize of 4 thousand euros, includes participation in the exhibition “REFOLDED. Meta-artistic paths”.

Works realized with all the languages of visual expression (painting, sculpture, installation, photography, graphics, video, without limits of techniques) are admitted. The deadline for submitting applications is October 12th 2020. Participation is free.

The aims of the award are in line with those promoted by the training program of the Luiss Creative Business Center, whose research is focused on creative industries, with the aim of monitoring the evolutionary trends of the industry, market opportunities, emerging professionals and industrial policies aimed at the growth and development of these important sectors of the Italian and world economy.

The competition requires the candidate works to develop the specific theme of meta-art, that is, the reflection that art makes on itself in order to investigate and make explicit the principles and mechanisms underlying its exercise. The jury, among others, is composed by: Achille Bonito Oliva, art critic and scientific director of the Luiss Master of Art; Peter Benson Miller, director of International and Institutional Relations, La Quadriennale di Roma; Roberto Cotroneo, journalist, writer and photographer; Pia Lauro, independent curator with Luiss Master of Art diploma; Gianfranco Maraniello, art historian and curator; Domenico Piraina, director PAC – Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea di Milano; Luca Pirolo, director Luiss Master of Art.

The Prize is open to all artists of Italian or foreign nationality – individually or in groups – who work permanently on Italian territory, who are under thirty-six years of age at the end of the competition, who have trained in Italian and foreign institutions and who have already exhibited in a gallery, cultural center, foundation, public or private museum institution verifiable and recognized as such. Candidates may compete with only one work, either published or unpublished, but which has not already won other competitions or prizes, from which it is clear that they adhere to the theme of the Prize. For application procedures, it is preferable to consult the announcement.
