RUFA students’ work unveiled at Ryder Cup 2023

The work of RUFA Fine Arts students Negin Fallah and Babək Abdullayev was selected to be reproduced on a giant ‘Tifo Flag’ and unveiled during the Ryder Cup 2023 – the most important international golf event – as a surprise and gift to the fans in the stadium and the millions of fans who followed the event from all over the world.

Rome welcomed the Ryder Cup of golf and as often happens, when it comes to synergy between art and institutions, RUFA was the absolute protagonist, becoming the bearer of ideas and innovation.
In the past few weeks, the organisers of the important event asked RUFA to hold an internal contest aimed at the creation of the so-called “tifo-flags”: the request was to create a portrait of the famous Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros, and the European captain Luke Donald.ndo decreed the winning work.

The students of the Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and those of the Master’s degree in Fine Arts worked hard to generate ideas capable of conveying the euphoria of the big event and to engage the large audience present.
European team captain Luke Donald thus selected two students’ works, which were mixed together to generate a highly original and creative ‘cheer flag’.
Both winners are enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts programme: Iranian artist Negin Fallah, and Babək Abdullayev, from Azerbaijan. For the RUFA students, the excitement of having contributed to strengthening the memory of an outstanding player who, first on the field and then as captain, contributed to no fewer than five European team successes in the Ryder Cup, thus living a truly unique artistic exper

Congratulations to Negin and Babak for producing a work of art that has moved millions of fans around the world.
