From 5 to 9 May 2025, RUFA Master’s students in Computer Animation and Visual Effects will take part in an intensive masterclass led by Matteo Caruso, Senior Lighting Artist with over ten years of experience in international productions.
The training course is dedicated to lighting in film productions, comparing traditional cinematography with modern 3D productions based on photorealistic rendering engines.
Through a theoretical and practical approach, students will also explore visual perception and cognition, analysing the use of layout and dressing, with a special focus on light as a narrative element capable of supporting direction, reinforcing storytelling and evoking emotion.
The masterclass includes a practical component dedicated to the organisation of the lighting pipeline, the use of leading software and professional tools for the creation of complete shots. A unique opportunity to integrate technical skills and artistic sensitivity within an international production workflow.
