The third edition of “Carapelli For Art”, the visual arts award promoted by the historical Tuscan company Carapelli, officially starts. From today, and until July 20, 2020, on the website Carapelli for Art it will be possible to submit your works and take part in the competition that puts up for grabs a final prize of 12 thousand euros.
The theme of this new edition is: “Roots”. “The roots – the announcement reads – keep us firmly on the ground, to make us grow in height; they are our identity, history, tradition on an individual and collective level. They make every form of exchange possible because their strength is inclusive. This is in their principle: they give us nourishment and stability, to allow development and transformation. In art the roots can be the relationship with one’s own origin, the recurring character of a research, the strong link with a matter or an idea, the first and necessary element of a process”.
The jury is composed of Elisa Del Prete (a cultural entrepreneur with a degree in Cultural Heritage, who has always worked autonomously to bring art into contact with society by investigating the work of artists capable of affirming their sign in today’s world), Matteo Innocenti (curator and art critic, teacher; he has collaborated with museums and institutions including the Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato, the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence, MAD), Massimiliano Tonelli (graduated in Communication Sciences at the University of Siena, from 1999 to 2011 he was director of the Exibart paper and web publishing platform and is editorial director of Artribune, which he founded in 2011), Gabriele Tosi (he is independent curator and artistic director of LOCALEDUE (Bologna), a non-profit space aimed at experimentation and dedicated to the promotion of young artists and curators).
Now in its third edition, in this particular and delicate historical moment, the award also aims to give concrete support to the art and culture sector, hard hit by the global emergency.
