Interview with Francesca Filipo and Eugenia Penta, founder of Vernisse

New appointment of the format “Fashion & Sustainability – Let’s Talk”.
Guenda Cermel, co-ordinator of the course in Sustainabale Fashion Design, will confront in live streaming on the RUFA Instagram channel with Francesca Filipo and Eugenia Penta, founder of Vernisse.

Vernisse was born in 2019 from the creativity of Francesca Filipo and Eugenia Penta, who, with the desire to give a second life to precious fabrics and accessories from the archives, reinvent timeless garments from the women’s wardrobe, destined for a contemporary and elegant woman.
The brand’s aesthetics are strongly influenced by the Roman roots of the designers and by the Mediterranean atmospheres, which constitute an imagery made up of destinations of the heart, linked to one’s childhood.

A strong bond with Italy that combines with the desire to speak to an international audience to export the brand’s values and create a community of women who are proud and strong but also romantic and tied to memories of their origins.
In fact, Vernisse collections have a family atmosphere reinterpreted in a modern key; it is like opening a family wardrobe from which to steal the precious garments desired and worn in secret as children. An innovation in shapes that nevertheless leaves intact that old-fashioned taste for special workmanship and fine fabrics, unique prints and sartorial details.

Vernisse takes its first steps with a direct distribution strategy. Trunk-shows in Italy and abroad and an Atelier in Milan in Piazza Castello that becomes the place where customers can see the collection and customise garments by choosing from silk-covered buttons, appliqués, embroidered trimmings and unique fabrics available in limited quantities.

Each garment is tailor-made near Milan, cut and finished by hand, designed to last and be passed on from generation to generation.

In the brand’s future there is a desire to maintain this identity and develop collaborations with a small number of boutiques and shops, similar in philosophy and research, respecting the intrinsic exclusivity of the garments, limited reproducibility and continuing to create capsule collections with special and exclusive fabrics.

We look forward to see you on the RUFA Instagram channel on Thursday 14 July at 1 p.m.!
