An intensive painting course to discover the third art.

The painting course is aimed at those who wish to approach painting disciplines through a series of workshops in small groups.
Designed for those who are at the beginning of their artistic career and with no age limits, the intensive course allows you to learn the basics in a comprehensive manner and to deepen them directly through practice.

The theoretical notions focus on the theory of colour, on the basic rules of composition, on the different painting techniques and related operational procedures, and on the themes that represent the different areas of investigation and experimentation in painting, thanks to the comparison of significant works and artists.

Following a path of personal expressive research, each participant will experience different technical operations, under the guidance of the teacher.
These will be addressed and dealt with through the development of individual works, in order to bring out their own pictorial language and authentic gaze, to give visible and tangible form to their need to do painting, encouraging interaction with the teacher and the other participants.

At the end of the course, a certificate of attendance will be issued, based on attendance at at least 12 of the 15 lectures, for a possible recognition of 2 ECTS.

Guido D’Angelo is an artist, researcher and lecturer based in Rome.

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1997 and in the previous year founded the SANGIORGIO research group, a project focused on experimenting with environmental installations using the Multiverse Diaprojection technique, borrowed from the Lanterna Magika experiences of Josef Svoboda, Alfred Radok and Vaclav Kaslik. His work focuses on painting as a language and process system, with the aim of affirming and making visible the complexities and internal articulations of the device of representation. His research also extends to installation work with the use of different materials in constant dialogue with space.

Since 1999 he has worked as an assistant to Prof. Franco Berdini for the chair of Semiotics of Experimental Sign at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. In 2005 he started the experimental research project on Image Action in Environment in Berlin, called Aliacorpora Project. In 2006 he began a professional collaboration with the artist Paolo Cotani, taking part in projects in galleries and museums. Since 2011 he has been the creator of art projects and events for the TFAC program – The Fine Art Collective, and technical consultant for the brands: Liquitex, Winsor&Newton, Conté à Paris, Lefranc Bourgeois. For the TFAC programme, he also holds workshops on painting and drawing techniques in fine arts academies and art training institutes throughout the country. Since 2013, he has been the creator and curator of the MAGTRE STUDIO art project within the Cortile dell’Arte in Rome.

In 2008 he obtained his teaching qualification for Painting Disciplines at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and in 2009 he obtained his Master’s Degree in Educational Sciences. Since 2014 he has been holding painting courses and workshops at the Fondazione smART Roma – Polo per l’Arte.
