RUFA and Croce Rossa Italiana, together for the communication of a commitment

Two projects, one of cinema and the other of photography, to show on the social front the synergistic action between RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts and the Croce Rossa Italiana. Objective: to promote and enhance the activities carried out by the Croce Rossa Italiana and those of its volunteers, following an educational project, divided into two phases, which involves students and lecturers RUFA.

Created with the aim of providing aid without discrimination to the wounded on the battlefields, the Croce Rossa Italiana movement, at international and national level, works to prevent and alleviate the suffering of men in all circumstances, to ensure respect for the human being and protect his life and health. The objective is to maintain and promote human dignity and a culture of non-violence and peace. A vision that RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts fully shares and to which it contributes through young people. Croce Rossa Italiana believes in the development of young people, contributing and strengthening their skills so that they can act as a tool for change within communities, promoting the culture of active citizenship.

On the basis of this scenario, the students of the Academy of Fine Arts legally recognized by the Miur are ready to give their all. The RUFA Film School will make a documentary about the “LGBT Refuge House”, which welcomes children who are victims of discrimination and violence on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity. The RUFA School of Photography will use images to tell the story of the various voluntary activities that the Croce Rossa Italiana carries out on a daily basis in the silence of commitment and respect for the individual. Both initiatives will not only help to make known the most relevant aspects of the “backstage” of the volunteer, but will also offer an evaluation tool useful to define the emotional and functional impact on the community.

The synergistic action between RUFA and the Croce Rossa Italiana is also an experiment: chronicle and art, news and communication, will merge in the expectations and hopes of students who take part in the two projects, thus giving the term training a different meaning: even in the way of thinking.
