Cians – Coordination of Non-State Academic Institutions declares itself ready to welcome Afghan students fleeing Afghanistan

A message of unity and hope in the awareness that the construction of a better world can only come about through concrete gestures. It is in this context that Cians, the association that brings together seventeen non-state Afam institutions operating in Italy, has declared its willingness to host, at its premises, young men and women fleeing from Afghanistan who intend to undertake a course of higher artistic education.

“Study and culture in general – explains the president of Cians, Arch. Fabio Mongellirepresent an opportunity for revenge and social improvement. The devastation that has not spared the places designated for knowledge and education must be a source of reflection so as not to bow to a destiny that seems to have already been written. The Cians institutions have sent a communication to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Universities and Research to take in boys and girls fleeing from Afghanistan, thus generating a renewed expectation of the future. This is an immediate and easy-to-implement response that will certainly not change the course of events, but represents a concrete gesture of solidarity”.

The Cians, on this particular occasion, wants to be a symbol of unity, charting a path in which cooperation and art can decline in unison. Structured as an apolitical and non-partisan association, Cians is non-profit, carries out socially useful activities and participates in the development process of society, contributing to the establishment of a system of High Artistic Education, High Education in the Arts, Music and Choreography is innovative, internationalised, sustainable and capable of promoting the economic, social, civil and cultural growth of the country.
