Lights from the suburbs

The cultural association “MotoreAzione!” has organised the artist’s residency “LUCI DALLA PERIFERIA”, dedicated to students of drama and screenwriting to allow five young people, including authors, screenwriters and videomakers, aged between 18 and 35, to make a short film that tells the story of adolescence and the suburbs in the district of Tor Bella Monaca in Rome.

The aim of the initiative is to focus on an area of the capital that has its roots in popular tradition but is often forgotten on the margins.

The project won the “Vitamina G” call for tenders as part of the “” programme financed by the Department of Youth Policy of the Lazio Region with the support of the Department for Youth, in partnership with the cultural association “La Rosmarina”, the production company “The Wider Screen” and the cultural association “Carpet”.

The aim of the residency is to encourage a space of aggregation useful for the development of initiatives and artistic experiments for the professionals of the sector and for the young people of the neighbourhood involved in the project.
