Tatiana Balchesini is a young artist born in 1992, graduated from the RUFA Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, MA in Painting in 2019. She lives and works in Rome. She is interested in various artistic disciplines with a preference for painting. Her works are characterised by bright colours and surreal scenarios. These are introspective works, born out of myth, legend and listening to pieces of Italian melodrama. Always ready to experiment with new paths, she creates works when her strings are touched by emotion. She is currently working on a project on the Divine Comedy, fixing on canvas the deadly vices and virtues of man. The artist fixes the atrocities and beauty of the human soul through colour. She often prefers large-scale works such as “L’Apoteosi dell’Amore”, where she depicts the myth of Eurydice and Orpheus or “Il Risveglio dell’araba fenice”, where she narrates the origin of life and rebirth through a repetitive and vital cycle.

The dream of art. Journey through myth, hybrids and chimeras.

Ephemeral creatures, celestial spaces, universes furrowed by distant chimeras fill the works of the two artists compared in this thesis. Luigi Ontani, with his oriental colors and his flair, has a nonindifferent charm. His being outside the box makes him unique and without any prejudice. He is the living manifesto of freedom of expression. Likewise, the works of Hieronymus Bosch have an esoteric and magical flavor: the Garden of Earthly Delights or the Marriage Feast at Cana are real triumphant works of visionary and fantastic art.
