Nude figure painting


The Nude figure painting course directed by Maestro Roberto Di Costanzo aims to educate students on the beauty of the human body, its graphic realization through painting techniques and the ability to interact “from real life” with a model, and thus relate with proportions and body geometry. A compendium of sensuality and harmony to which aspiring students are invited for an experience of refined sharing and discovery of their creative abilities.

Goals: The course aims to provide aspiring students with the knowledge of the body, its accurate anatomy. Drawing is a tool to discover one’s ability, talent and aesthetic sense.

Figure drawing from real life
Basic drawing (week 1 and 2): construction of the figure, proportions, inclinations, inserting the image in space.
Life drawing (week 3, 4 and 5): the figure and the contour line.
Study of chiaroscuro (week 6, 7 and 8): impact of light on the object; study of light and shadow and of the different chiaroscuro techniques.
Real life drawing (week 9 and 10): the figure and the volume.


Roberto Di Costanzo, born in Rome in 198,5 is a portraitist, illustrator and painter. He also teaches costume history, live drawing, anatomical drawing and architectural design.

After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome with a specialization in theatre set design, he enters the prestigious Experimental Center of Cinematography where he graduates in set design, costume and furniture for cinema under the guidance of Maestro Piero Tosi. At the same time he develops a keen interest in the world of illustration and participates in numerous editorial projects illustrating books also published in France, Switzerland and Belgium. During his career, despite his young age, he has already organized solo exhibitions in Italy and France. One of his latest exhibitions, “Human Landscape”, ended in early November 2017 and in 2018 will move to China and the USA.

Course package: for those who enroll in two or more courses, a 10% reduction will be applied on the courses following the first.

At the end of the course, upon request, a certificate of attendance will be issued to those who have attended at least 8 of the 10 scheduled lessons.
