Photography is the first tool that comes to mind when you think of capturing or creating an advertising image, but in reality it is not the only one. For years we have been surrounded by images that show the product in increasingly captivating ways, many of these images are made in Computer Graphics (CGI).
By combining the technical knowledge of shooting and light management, typically used in photography, with innovative tools and software, such as 3ds Max, V-Ray, Photoshop, a new professional figure is born, that of the CGI Photographer, a figure who in Italy is much requested by advertising agencies, but which is still not widespread.
With the course in CGI Photography you will be able to learn the techniques necessary for the graphic rendering of images to be used in the vast sector of product visualization. From the representation of the product, useful for graphics for packaging and sale, up to the creation of images for advertising purposes for catalogs, posters, etc.; rendering used as a graphical representation tool.
The Basic course aims to give the student the basic knowledge of photography and the typical tools of a studio photo shoot. Basic lessons on photography studio lighting and techniques for using light in V-Ray for 3ds Max will be addressed, with a transposition from real to virtual. V-Ray and photography represent the main backbone of the course, but there will be hints related to 3ds Max and Photoshop.
As the course focuses on 3D Photography, models provided by the lecturer will be used, therefore modeling lessons are not provided. The course deals with the entire management of a scene in a 3D environment, from the lighting of the objects, to the rendering of the materials, up to the return of the image for Photoshop compositing.
