Elisabetta Villaggio

Elisabetta Villaggio attended philosophy at Bologna University, then Cinema and Television at the USC (University of South California) in Los Angeles.
She has worked in television as an assistant director, director, author and consultant for the Italian state broadcaster Rai and the private networks Mediaset and la7.
She directed two short films, one of which, “Taxi”, was selected at the Venice International Film Festival.
She has written several screenplays and directed the feature film “Luna and the Others”.
She directed the documentary “Paolo Villaggio: mi racconto”, selected at the ArtDocFest in Rome, in 2010.
She teaches in RUFA in the Cinema department, and collaborates with various magazines.
She has written a play “Marilyn, gli ultimi tre giorni” (Marilyn, the Last Three Days), which won the 11th edition of the “Donne e Teatro” Award as a debut work and has been published by Borgia. She then also directed the play, in the 2011-2012 season. On the same subject, she wrote “Marilyn: un intrigo dietro la morte” (Marilyn: The Plot behind her Death), published by Bonanno Editore in October 2012. She directed the play “Marilyn un intrigo dietro la morte”, staged in December 2012. She wrote the mise en scene “Io sono Virginia” (I am Virginia), staged in May 2013. She is the author of a novel “Una vita bizzarra” (A Bizarre Life), published in October 2013 by Città del Sole Edizioni, which won the Anassilaos Award for fiction. In December 2014, she published the play “Marilyn gli ultimi 3 giorni” with Panesi Edizioni. In 2016, she published the English version of the play “Marilyn, the last 3 days” with Panesi Edizioni.
In 2016 she published the novel “La Mustang rossa” with La ruota edizioni.
