Gattoni’s film vocation was born from the casual study of the history of cinema at high school in Piacenza. He then graduated in production from the University of London. Back in Italy, Gattoni enters an annual workshop that Bellocchio holds every year and, at the age of 24, begins to produce short films of his Master, one of which is the basis of the film “Blood of my blood”, which involves vampires and nuns. Since then (Bellocchio and Gattoni) have become partners of Kavac Film in Rome and, in addition to making two subsequent feature films by Bellocchio (“Fai bei sogni” and “Traditore”, selected to represent Italy at the Academy Awards ), are realizing projects of other authors, including Gianni Amelio.
