Simone Spampinato, born in Rome in 1995, is an Italian filmmaker.
After studying cinema at RUFA in 2014, he wrote and directed short films and documentaries during his university years.
In 2016, he co-founded “Jumping Flea”, a film production company based in Rome. He served as a producer, co-author, and editor for “Koi” in 2019. In 2020, he co-directed and edited “Fort Apache” (2021) alongside Ilaria Galanti. This documentary, featuring the acclaimed actor Marcello Fonte, was selected at the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival and RIFF 2021, winning awards at the Edera Film Festival 2022 and the inaugural Festival Vision 2030.
In 2021, he was involved as assistant director, co-author, and executive producer in the documentary “Come una vera coppia” (2021) directed by Christian Angeli, created in collaboration with AIPD. In 2022, he worked as a cinematographer and editor on the documentary “Il tempio della velocità” (2022), produced by Moviheart in collaboration with Rai Documentari, broadcast in prime time on Rai 2.
In 2023, he continued his commitment as an editor for the documentaries “Totò e il principe de Curtis” and “Enzo Tortora: volevo immaginarmi altrove,” both co-produced by Rai Documentari.
Currently, he is in the development phase of his upcoming documentary tentatively titled “Io non perdono,” presented at the MIA 2021 Doc Pitching Forum and GZDOC 2022.
