Piccola Natura Morta

Visual Arts Performance: Anica Huck. RUFA Space from 10 to 12 November 2021.

The performance Piccola Natura Morta consists of three parts and investigates the ritualized dynamics of family and organizational constellations at the psychological, social and cultural levels. The process of alienation is the underlying element of this performance work. In her live performance, the artist uses an original Aryan certificate from the Nazi regime of the 1930s. The blank form, part of the artist’s great-grandfather’s archive, does not tell a specific family story, but speaks generally of potential family traumas passed down from generation to generation.

The encounter between the public, the artist and the digital reproduction of the body also reflects on the process and dynamics of objectification through the pre-positioning of a virtual space/entity in opposition to “real” physical reality.
