The UNEARTHED exhibition – realised by the students of the second year of Multimedia Arts and Design – is a multimedia exploration of what happens behind the closed doors of a museum when it is ‘dormant’.
Born out of the collaboration between RUFA and the National Roman Museum, it aims to explore and bring out the different ways in which the museum communicates.
The museum is understood as a dreamlike place, a dream in which time seems to stand still, but which at the same time remains alive thanks to the presence of people.
By means of the metaphor of excavation, the exhibition recounts the activity behind the museum, even during a period of closure: from research, to the discovery of works, to their conservation and preservation.
The earth, from which everything is generated, acts as the guardian of the exhibits, which despite coming from different places, travel the same journey until they find themselves in the same space.
