In Naples the third Q-Rated workshop

The selections for the workshop “Q-Rated Napoli 2019” are open. Through this project the Quadrennial wants to become a place of active and constant research to contribute to the formation of a constructive debate on contemporary art and, above all, to better structure the next edition of the exhibition. Q-Rated, specifically, is divided into three workshops a year with leading figures from the world of international art. These workshops are designed to explore the most relevant issues in the field of visual arts, bringing together international contemporary professionals with young Italian artists and curators.

The workshops, each lasting three days, are held in different Italian cities. “Q-Rated Napoli 2019” will be the last workshop of the project. The initiative, entitled “DISPLAY” will take place at the headquarters of the Mother – Museum of Contemporary Art Donnaregina between 27 and 29 November.

Three tutors will alternate in the days of confrontation in the capital of Naples: Krist Gruijthuijsen, director of KunstWerke in Berlin; Lucy McKenzie artist and member of the collaboration project Atelier E.B with Beca Lipscombe, designer; Fredi Fischli & Niels Olsen, curators of the exhibition space of the Institute of History and Theory of Architecture of ETH Zurich.

The deadline for submitting your application online is 23 September 2019. The competition, which can be downloaded from the Quadrennial website, is aimed at Italian artists and curators between 23 and 35 years of age. Italian artists and curators (also grouped in groups) are admitted to participate, with no exception to those residing abroad or foreigners who are naturalised in Italy or who live and work permanently in Italy. Therefore, in addition to foreign citizens who have obtained Italian citizenship, also those who have a continuous working-cultural link with Italy are included. No specific qualification is required for participation in the workshop. Sessions will be held in English. The selection will be made by a committee that includes the artistic director Sarah Cosulich and the curator. Stefano Collicelli Cagol. The artists and curators selected for the November workshop will receive confirmation of their participation from the Quadriennale di Roma by 15 October 2019.
