RUFA and Contrasto, photography masterclass with Emanuela Zuccalà

Bring the knowledge learned during the lessons to the practical and operational level. It is in this context that the masterclasses by the Contrasto agency are focused. These are in-depth lessons that put the students of the third year of the course of Photography in front of those who are experts in this field, both from the creative point of view and from the technical one. Not to mention the great photographers of the international art scene.

The masterclass scheduled for December 9, 2019 is held by Emanuela Zuccalà, freelance journalist, writer and director. Her works have been published, among others, by “El País”, “Worldcrunch”, “Mail&Guardian”. She has won numerous international journalistic awards including the “Press Freedom Award” from “Reporters Sans Frontières”. Her documentary “Solo per farti sapere che sono viva” has been awarded at several festivals, including the “Margaret Mead” in New York and the “Aan Korb” of the BBC. In 2016 he produced “Uncut”, a multimedia project that denounces the practice of female genital mutilation, winner of 15 journalistic and film awards. Her latest project, also multimedia, is “Crossing the River”, about the connections between maternal mortality in sub-Saharan Africa and gender inequalities.

The experience of the Contrasto masterclasses is aimed at offering fundamental suggestions and reflections to the process of production and presentation of a photographic project. A programmatic vision that RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts and Contrasto have structured into a didactic plan with meetings to be held throughout the academic year.
