Beirut – Identity Competition

The explosion in the port of Beirut on the 4th of August 2020 destroyed half of the capital of Lebanon, already suffering from an economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason, L’École de design Nantes Atlantique, the Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts and the École Supérieure d’Agricultures, in collaboration with Cumulus International Association of Universities and Colleges in Art, Design and Media and BE OPEN Foundation, have launched the Beirut – Identity competition.

The competition is aimed at the international design community: students, professionals and anyone willing to offer impactful environmental and identity solutions and to rebuild the spirit of the Beirut community.

It will be possible to participate by submitting ideas for posters, design proposals, media campaigns, workshop proposals, research or project proposals. The project must demonstrate a real understanding and respect for the Lebanese and Beirut identity.

Participation is free. Each participant can participate individually or in a group and submit even more the one proposal through the Beirut Identity site. If possible participants are also invited to collaborate with an NGO to make the presentation.

Deadline for submission is Thursday the 31th of December 2020, 17:00 CET. For further information on the categories visit Cumulus Association Website.
