The project

It has been the women of Rome who made the history of the capital, the real protagonists of a city where at every turn it refers to legendary characters and ancient myths. A city oozing art from every pore, inhabitated by actresses, artists, saints and writers who, thanks to their talent, brought the city of the seven hills on top of the world. Every week, a new issue of Victoria dedicated to the story of the women and for the women in a different district of the capital.

For the first issue of the magazine we chose San Lorenzo to make people discover one side of this little and great district that not everybody knows. It is one of those ancient souls that brings with them a bag full of witnesses from the past as if it wanted to tell everybody to go beyond the appearance of its streets, usually seen as the district of degradation, populated by young people and immigrants, when it is much more, believe us. It is a district that is fully lived every day, rich in history made by great women, such as Montessori who founded her own teaching method now famous worldwide. Women who made a revolution by creating their movement and making history. We must thank them if we can benefit now from the rights that belong to us and that had been denied to us very easily before. And yet it is not only that. It is also lived by modern women of today who don’t surrender and fight every day to claim their beliefs.
