From 23 to 27 January 2023 Computer Animation and Visual effects students will have the opportunity to attend a masterclass with the storyboard artist and animator Giovanna Ferrari, active throughout Europe and with 20 years’ experience in the industry.
During the masterclass, students will fully understand what a storyboard is and what it is used for, how to go from the written word to the image, how to use cinematic rules to express emotions, and to break patterns, how to face the blank page and not be afraid of it.
Giovanna will guide the students in their search for answers to these fundamental questions, to help them refine and orientate their approach to the important art of storytelling.
She has worked on several feature films and series, including many Cartoon Saloon projects (Song of the Sea, The Breadwinner, Wolfwalkers). She recently worked as Head of Story and Animation Director on the feature film ‘My Father’s Dragon’, directed by Nora Twomey, produced by Netflix (Cartoon Saloon/ Fost). Giovanna won an Emile Award for best storyboard for her work on “The Breadwinner”. She is currently working on the next feature film Cartoon Saloon and developing various projects as a story consultant.
